Hi. I’m Allen.
And I am a freelance photographer in Nashville Tennessee.
Background
I’ve always loved photography. I spent 4 years shooting, developing, & printing in my high school darkroom many moons ago, and I just never stopped loving the process. Although I shoot a blend of film & digital today, my favorite subject to photograph never changed; the one right in front of me. People getting married. People following their passion projects. Or people just plain hangin’ out. It’s beautiful, really. The glimpses of life these people share with me. And, in turn, the glimpses of their life that I get to share back with them.
Authentic Fine-Art Photography
I’ve heard fine-art photography defined as a greater emphasis on the artistry of the photo rather than capturing the true representation of the subject.
I take a unique approach at fine-art photography by actively anticipating these truly authentic, candid moments that reflect how you felt in the moment. I’m not talking about how you looked in the moment. The camera will take care of that. I’m talking about how you felt in the moment. That’s up to the photographer to capture that.
And that is the type of authentic fine-art that I strive to create.
What to Expect
Plain and simple, we will be working together to make the photographs you want. And often times, that includes more than just photography. If I’m working with wedding clients, you can expect enough guidance to get the important shots (like the image below) but enough space to let you just enjoy the moment.
After working with hundreds of clients, I’ve found that everyone’s needs inside and outside of the photography itself are vastly different. You can expect me to take a unique and authentic approach to meeting those needs regardless of the client or project.
